“Pan A Knock! Pan A Knock!” This was what the patrons at Bellevue Kids annual party “Government 6” were left saying, after what started out as a party vibes clash, began to take a turn to what seemed like an all out sound clash. “Is this a Joke”, one patron asked as everyone stood and watched. “Government”, is a year to year party clash, where an invitation of sound system tries to see who gets the most crowd reaction, or hype. But on this day, it seemed Kevin Famous didn’t get the memo. It all started with Prestige Sound, then Asylum, who kicked the party off with very soothing music, starting the party on the right ‘foot’ and was great leading up to the clash. Then Broadway Sound, who after a few songs played, had the crowd in frenzy. People wanted to hear more, and reacted with dancing, and movement to show their appreciation.

After the 15 minutes, host Troubles from Sir Conqueror came on to settle the amped crowd down, and announce the emergence of Kevin Famous, who was dressed in an army camouflage, with matching accessories (even the headphones were camouflaged). Before handing him the mic, Troubles informed him that it was not a Sound Clash, but was a clash of vibes, then handed him the mic and left the spotlight. This got everyone’s attention, as just his appearance was enough to make any normal patron a bit curious, though it seemed like people were anticipating Kevin, as it was rumored throughout the Bronx that he had got dub plates for the whole dream team. As was rumored, he had dub plates for the whole dream team with an addition of close friend Teflon from I-95. Calling dream team lean team, who weren’t laughing were speechless, and who weren’t booing were cheering, but no one was dancing. Very controversial indeed, as “Government” did say NO HOLDS BAR. Madout and Markus Wanted made fun of the situation, holding up signs to the camera saying “Com’on Son”, but whoever came to party, was glad when that lashing out was over.

After a 15 minutes which seemed like forever for most, Troubles came back on the scene, stating “Mi tell yuh annuh soun clash”, before bringing the party back with some selections of his own, then turning it over to I-95. Teflon took to what was considered the stage (not an actual stage) saying, “look how yuh kill yuh blood***** self”, before continuing on with his session. As the night went on, Platinum Kids took the stage, with what seemed like a smile, which most people really appreciated, as they wanted the party to return to its natural theme. But before continuing, he addressed the situation, and played a dub from Wreckhouse artist Young Flame, then continued through his session, then passed it on to last years MVP, Madout, who also took the time to play his original dub from Twins of Twins (Mutabaruka Voice) stating “how him fi famous an nobody nuh know him, not even god know him”, which also, warranted a chuckle from the anxious crowd, before he went one with his session.

All in all, it was a good party night. Great crowd, and people were left saying Kevin Famous catch phrase,  “Pan a knock”, but the night belonged to broadway. And it was only right that Faimous from Broadway have his party the next night at Eye Adom, as that was definitely a success. Congrats to Broadway Sound!!!!!

What will government bring next year……..?
